Public Library— Six days a week the Ashrama’s Public lending Library is open to those who are members. The library has more than 6000 books and receives many magazines and daily newspapers. Membership is acquired by paying a nominal yearly fee only.

The Ashrama at Chapra offers a wide selection of books in Hindi and in English and Bengali published by various publication Centres of the world-wide Ramakrishna Mission. These include modestly priced comprehensive biographies, as well as medium and short biographies, of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, Holy Mother, Sri Sarada Devi and Swami Vivekananda. Lives of other disciples of Sri Ramakrishna are also available. Also Vedanta scriptures: the Bhagavad Gita, The Upanishads, The Complete Works of Swami Vivekananda and others.
